JULIA FISHER-PERRIER, COUNCILWOMAN DISTRICT VII - St. Charles Parish lives in Luling and has resided in St. Charles Parish for over 35 years. She is a third generation of Luling resident and her son, Eli is a fourth generation resident. Julia is a licensed property and casualty insurance advisor for Brown & Brown Insurance in New Orleans and has been in insurance for ten years. She is a 1998 graduate of Hahnville High School and attended the University of New Orleans as a political science / pre-law major. As councilwoman for District VII, Julia serves her constituents by actively participating in community activities and serving as a liaison to fulfill the needs of the residents in her district.
Julia is the current Chairman of the Hurricane Protection Projects Committee, a member of the Operations, Maintenance, and Construction Management Committee; Legislative Committee; Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee; and Special Projects/Public Safety, Health and Environmental Committee.
Julia is a member of the Sunset Drainage District - Board of Commissioners, a member of the St. Charles Parish Hazard Mitigation Plan Committee, a member of the board for the South Central Planning and Development Commission, a member of the board of Regional Planning Commission, President of the United Way of St. Charles Board of Directors, as well as, a member of the United Way of St. Charles Finance Committee.
Julia has served as St. Charles Parish Council Chairman, Ex-Officio member of the Housing Authority, and a member of the Paul Maillard Corridor Revitalization Executive Committee.
Julia is an executive board member at large of the Louisiana Police Jury Association and a member of the National Association of County Officials. She is a member of NACo's Justice and Public Safety Policy Steering Committee, the current Chairman of the Louisiana Police Jury Association's Wildlife and Fisheries Committee, and a member of the council for NACo's Next Generation, and Gulf States Caucus, and a member of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana's Coastal Caucus.
