Post Date:August 24, 2017 3:43 p.m.

St. Charles Parish, LA -Staff of the Public Information Office were recently appointed to professional and local volunteer boards in the region.

In July, Public Information Officer Tristan Babin was renewed to serve another year as a Director at Large on the board of the National Association of County Information Officers, having been first appointed to the position in July 2016. He was also appointed and confirmed as the vice president of board operations for the New Orleans Chapter of the American Marketing Association with a one-year term in June of 2017.

Additionally, Public Information Specialist Adrienne Bourgeois was named as the president of the Alpha Daughters of Zion Domestic Violence Program, a local organization whose mission is to equip and empower survivors of domestic violence with the necessary tools to make informed healthy life choices. Her term will expire in May 2019.

Both currently serve on the marketing committee of the United Way of St. Charles.

"Serving on these external volunteer boards help us to enhance the positive image of St. Charles Parish in the region, improve the quality of work in our field and at the ground level… impact the lives of our residents outside of our day jobs." said Babin. “This was something Parish President Cochran encouraged us to do- volunteer.”

The parish’s public information office serves as local government’s most public-facing department by maintaining the website, social media pages, government access channel and handling all media relations.

The mission of St. Charles Parish government is to provide high quality, efficient services to sustain and enhance the quality of life for all residents of St. Charles Parish.
