PARISH NOW AUCTIONING ADJUDICATED PROPERTIES ONLINE
St. Charles Parish is now auctioning adjudicated local properties online at civicsource.com. Adjudicated properties are properties that have been placed in governmental hands because local property taxes have not been paid.
The first auction will take place on October 4.
“The partnership between St. Charles Parish and CivicSource will help return previously vacant land and properties back to use and commerce,” said Planning and Zoning Director Michael Albert. “This program saves taxpayers money on maintenance costs and provides opportunities for current and future residents to build homes and businesses in the parish at very affordable rates.”
The full listing of properties is available at civicsource.com. Both commercial and residential properties are available for purchase. A virtual information session on purchasing adjudicated properties is available at events.civicsource.com.
Representatives from CivicSource are scheduled to present on the new auction process at the parish council meeting at 6 p.m. July 31 at the St. Charles Parish Courthouse, 15045 River Road in Hahnville.
